These are all three very good listens. Sometimes a show doesn't have a particular crecendo moment, but is a night of overall energy. I think these shows are also good examples of how we have to tune our selves to a certain era. The 88 show has the Jer vocal shake and a more concise manner. (and a Hey Jude which for the love of God could someone point to a show where they actually sang this in tune!!). The 78 shows are from a period which I really like. The 11/18 show is a good example of how Donna la la-ing and Bobby slide can work - in the Scarlet/Fire. (I agree with all Donna detractors, allthough she always sounded good to me at the shows; I think the Dead sound was too powerful for her pitch). The 11/24 show has a neat part where the Shakedown jams outro into drums.

Nice call, Liam...

It's rare that I cotton to an '88 show (IMO the next year is when the band really found its stride & Jerry began to get his chops back after the '86 coma), but this definitely ranks.

The China>Rider is the highlight and the Birdsong is a notch above most of this era, with even Jerry's vocals sustaining on some of the tougher notes. A good find of an underrated show.

I will give it a spin. I have been grooving to 6-14-76 Beacon NYC. While you are getting the grill ready for a NY strip, simply listen to first set. Enjoy. Then after try the second set. Sit back and chill out after an other work week. Sure to get your bones shakin!
